Visqueen, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of damp proof courses, damp proof membranes, structural waterproofing and gas protection systems, has added non-combustible flexible preformed units (PFUs) to its ground-breaking Zedex Non-Combustible Damp Proof Course (DPC) and cavity tray system.
Builders no longer need to order specific, heavy stainless-steel PFUs for detailing corners during their building projects. The new flexible non-combustible corner PFUs are lightweight and easy to install and combine excellent strength and tear resistance. They are an integral part of the Zedex non-combustible flexible cavity tray system.
Supplied rolled for easy stocking and handling across the supply chain, Visqueen’s non-combustible flexi preformed corner units can be ordered ‘off the shelf’ at local stockists and merchants, avoiding the need for the design of bespoke stainless-steel PFUs. Significant time is also saved by not having to wait for manufacture and delivery, meaning building projects are not delayed unnecessarily.
Visqueen’s flexi non-combustible internal and external corner PFUs are available to suit the following cavity width ranges; 40mm to 100mm, 100mm to 150mm, 150mm to 200mm, 200mm to 250mm and 250mm to 300mm. At installation, they can be easily trimmed or modified on site to deal with any minor changes, something that would not be possible with the rigid stainless steel PFUs.
As with Zedex Non-Combustible DPC, the flexible PFUs offer a reaction to fire classification A2 – s1, d0 to BS EN 13501-1:2018 through independent third-party testing by Warringtonfire and are compliant with UK Building Regulations.
